I was born in Salt Lake City, and have lived in West Valley City my entire life. I have built long-lasting connections with the community through years of service, education, and employment. I recently graduated from the University of Utah with a Bachelors in Psychology. While obtaining my degree, I was able to work with professors in their research involving behavioral science. I am currently pursuing a Masters degree in Counseling.
I served for two years as a missionary in the greater Ogden area for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I appreciated the unique opportunity to connect to the people I served, and I built relationships that will continue to bless me for the rest of my life. Because of my mission, I was able to grow confident in my abilities of public speaking, planning ahead, and interact with people with different backgrounds than mine. Since returning, I have been blessed to serve my congregation and my community through overseeing ministering and services efforts in the area.
I have previously worked for substance abuse treatment centers in Salt Lake City and Magna, working primarily with adolescents. I volunteered at the Children's Center in Salt Lake, assisting the paraprofessionals in play therapy with young kids. I have also volunteered with Big Brothers, Big Sisters, mentoring youth and refugee families. I moved to working in management, serving as an Assistant Program Manager for Odyssey House, before working at my current job. I now serve as a case manager at an adult outpatient substance abuse clinic in West Jordan.
